Mrs. Nikki Lynise “Big Nik” “Pretty Eyes” “Candy Lady” Stewart Dendy was granted her angel wings on June 8, 2019. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on August 9, 1973, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Jacqueline Stewart and the late Lenard Frank Stewart.

With her beautiful green and brown hazel eyes wide open, this was the first of many amazing things about Nikki. Another was that she could carry on a full conversation at the age of two years old.

She attended Overbrook High School and received her GED from a program sponsored by the Philadelphia School System.

Nikki was a very much loved mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She also held a special place in the hearts of many family members and countless friends.

She was the eldest of two children. When her mother wouldn’t let her have a dog, she replied “Well can I have a little baby?” This was when she was only three years old. Eight and a half months later, her mother had her little sister, Gera, whom she thought was her baby. Nikki moved to Greenville in May of 1996, and quickly adapted to life in the South.

One of Nikki’s favorite things was spending holidays with family and friends. She especially liked to grill. She was a very good cook. Her fried fish was the bomb. Nikki also liked to travel, she loved the beach and was the only one in her immediate family that could swim. She had a very big heart, and was very generous to the people she loved and cared about. Even though her life was cut short by a serious heart ailment, she led a very eventful life. She will be sincerely missed by the family and friends.

She was a baptized member of Long Branch Baptist Church and had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard F. Stewart; paternal grandmother,Josephine Stewart; maternal grandmother, Mary Ellen Moses; grandfather, Ollie Moses; three uncles, Richard Moses, Michael Moses and Larry Ulmer; two aunts, Peggy Stewart and Dorothy Stewart; and a cousin, Jamal Moses.

Surviving are one daughter, Angel So’love Unique Harrison of Greenville, SC; one son, Dai’Sean Malik Nasir of Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Gera R. Bazemore of Greenville, SC; a brother-in-law, James Anderson of Greenville, SC; eight aunts, Ollie Nasir, Eleanor Huntley, Patricia M. Grannum, Peggy Moses, Rhonda Moses, Jeanette Stewart, Lucille Stewart and Carol Stewart, all of Philadelphia, PA; three uncles, Jerome Moses, Albert Huntley and Patrick Grannum, all of Philadelphia, PA; one grandchild, Azairie L. Nasir; a nephew, Jawaun Anderson; a godson, Zenijea “Booty” Farmer; play brothers, Octavious Demory, Anthony “D” and Erine Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.

We're sorry to hear about your recent loss. Accept our sincere condolences. The words of Philippians 4:13 can be very soothing in these moments, it says: "For all things I have the strength through the one who gives me power."
What a loving God who cares about each one of us.
He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.

Sadden to read of the death of your loved one, Nikki. Whichever memory makes you smile the most, whichever one makes you the happiest to have had her love…I hope you hold those memories closest to your heart. May you keep close in mind the beautiful promise of the resurrection at Isaiah 26:19, where our Creator promises to give life again to our loved ones we have lost in death. May this sure promise sustain and comfort you as you await the fulfillment.
