.On September 26, 1938, in Lee County, Alabama, Lee Greta Moore and Mathis Hart welcomed a daughter, Mae Dell Hart into their family. Mae Dell joined the Ebenezer CME Church family at an early age, where she faithfully worked with the youth and young adults.

Mae Dell attended Lee County Training Schools in Auburn, Alabama. After graduating from high school, Mae Dell married the love of life, Selby Carl Anderson . They made their home in Liberty, South Carolina. During their life’s journey they were blessed with one child, Benda Faye, that they cherished very much.

Mae was a loving and giving person. The highlight of her life was spreading God’s word and being a mentor to others. Mae’s church affiliations were a member of Robinson Chapel United Methodist Church, Lay Leader, Chair of Witness & Evangelism, Coordinator of Communication, United Methodist Women at Robinson Chapel and Union (President), Church Out-Reach, Finance Committee, and Senior Choir. Her community involvement included President of Age of Harmony Choir, Pickens County Mass Choir, Unity Festival, Clearview and Simpson Heritage Foundation, Mordenettes Bridge Club in Greenville and Life Member and Past Chair of the Freedom Fund Banquet of the NAACP Branch of Pickens County.

On Saturday, May 11. 2019, Mae’s earthly journey came to an end with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She transitioned onto her heavenly journey to be with her Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, O’Neal Moore and Vanderbilt Hart.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Ivy) Daniels of Strong, Arkansas; one sister, Lillie Jefferson of Waterbury, Connecticut; two grandchildren., Amanda and Ivy Daniels, III; three great-grandchildren, Germyren, Treveon and Tristen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends.

Thank you Mrs. Mae D. Anderson for all the love you showed the community. We will forever be grateful and hold the memories in our hearts. You were a mother and nurturer to many and we are going to miss that boldness and that strut. Saturday is going to be a day to celebrate the life and legacy of one of Liberty's very finest. I know you got your heels on and a mean strut to gather your heavenly wings and to hear the words, "Well done thy faithful servant!" We love you! Rest in peace, Beautiful!
