Obituary

Mr. Joe L. King, Sr. 80, passed July 7, 2020, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown. He was a son of the late John and Annie Bell Kelly King.

Surviving: his wife, Anna J. King of the home; four daughters, Joyce Mangum, Marian Denis King, both of Alexander, VA., Vanessa Kesley of Myrtle Beach, SC and Linda Davis of Myrtle Beach/Greenville, SC.; two sons, Joe L. King, Jr. of Alexander, VA and Randy Simpson of Greenville, SC; one brother, Lewis King, Sr. of Greenville, SC; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service: Tuesday, July 14,2020, 1:00p.m. at Union Baptist Church.

The family request that everyone please wear a mask.

I first met Mr King when I attended Greenville Middle....he was a loving and caring man....when i first met him it was like we been known each other....he had me spoiled like I was one of his own kids..

Mr. Joe King was a fantastic gentleman. He worked with me at Greenville Middle School. Children looked up to him and adults admired him. He will be missed. Heaven gained a great one. Until we meet again fly high Joe. Much love sir!

He was a loving and caring man. He would always make sure that ever student in came in contact with was doing what they was suppose to do. He always had a word of encouragement for everyone. He had a sweet soul and a loving and caring heart.
