Obituary

Sister Janie Mae Gambrell Neal, 88, of Greenville, South Carolina, was granted her angel’s wings on Thursday, June 27, 2019, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She was born on July 2, 1931, in Greenville, to the late Sylvene Gambrell and Tom Gambrell.

She had a passion for helping people and loved the Lord.  Those who were touched by her understood that the quality of her existence far exceeded the quantity of time she lived.

She was a member of the Queen Street Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her health began to decline. While there, she was a member of the Seniors-In-Action Ministry and sang in the Senior Choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bobby Neal, Sr.; one sister, Cornelius Neal; one brother, Henry Lee Gambrell; and two grandchildren, Anthony Walker
and Bobby Neal, Jr.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories are one son, Presiding Elder Nathaniel (Debbie) Neal of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren: Darrell Walker (Toni), Sheronda Butts (Tony), Dextrina Neal, Nathaniel C. E. Neal and Orlena Smith; one sister, Ruby Mae Gambrell of Greenville, SC; eighteen great-grandchildren, twenty-one great-great-grandchildren; a granddaughter-in-law, Felicia Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other family members and friends.

We are truly Sadden to learn of the death of your loved one. As Numbers 23:19 reminds us - "God is not a mere man who tells lies, nor a son of man who changes his mind. When he says something, will he not do it? When he speaks, will he not carry it out?" Everything God has promised will come true, and he has promised that soon now, He will "swallow up death forever."(Isaiah 25:8.) Although your grief is heavy now, by means of the resurrection (John 5:28, 29) you will gain joy again!! My deepest sympathy to the family.
