It is with a grateful heart to the Lord that I send my sincere and deepest condolences to Mrs. Booker and the family of my much-appreciated former basketball official colleague, J. C. Booker. It is as my pleasure to have worked together with J. C. on the hardwood for a period of about 15 years (until I hung things up there after my 70th birthday). It was always a joy and a professional assurance to see his name as one of my referee “teammates” - knowing that he would far more than simply hold up his “end or primary” of things. I want to add my voice to the “choir” of others in testimony to J. C. Booker’s kind and gracious spirit as a man and friend. May God bless, provide, and keep you folks in these coming days, weeks, months, and years of earthly loss!! Amen and amen. — Gordon Greer

It was with great sadness that I read the news about JC's passing. I had known him for 20 years or so and was always glad to see him. His positive attitude even in difficult times was an inspiration to me and I am sure to many others. He will be missed.
