She was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. I was the pastor at New Golden Grove UMC in Piedmont. She lived right across the road from the church. I spent many times with her in her home. We would talk and laugh about things we shared with each other. And, this pastor never went hungry. She could cook and so could her 2 daughters at home. After being appointed to Fairfield UMC, we kept in touch for a while. She was very helpful when my mom drove to Piedmont and found herself lost. She had Dementia. My mom found Mrs. Moorehead’s home because she had heard me mention her. There are other stories that come to mind but I hold them dear to my heart. To the family, thank you for so many wonderful times with your mother and with you. You all will always hold a special place in my heart, especially your mother. May God continue comfort you through the months ahead.
Love you,
Pastor Carleathea Benson (Retired)
